Highest peaks in North Macedonia and Albania

Climbing to the highest peak of a country is a great way to enjoy both a unique adventure and a great vantage point during your travels. On this hiking  trip among the highest peaks of Macedonia You will discover the three main and highest mountain regions of Macedonia and Albania. The three mountain ranges we will hike up during this trip are: Mount Korab, Korab peak (2764 m) – Korab is the highest peak of Macedonia  and Albania  Shara Mountains, with Titov peak(2747m.) Baba mountain,with Pelister peak (2601m.) These are the best  summits. Furthermore, these mountains are often cultural and historical landmarks, which adds a plus to the climb.

Short Overview of the Itinerary

Day 1.

 It’s arrival day in Macedonia your guide will pick you up from the airport and we have transport to a nice hotel in Popova Shapka ski resort where we will spend the first night.

Day 2.

On the second day, we start from the hotel and go to the peak called Titov Peak or Titos Peak 2747m. The highest peak of the Shar Mountain range is very close to the border with Kosovo, in Northwest Macedonia. The duration of the hike for today is 8 to 9 hours, with a height difference of 1,050 m. At the end of the tour, we transferred to the hotel in Mavrovo National Park.

Day 3.

Today we hike to the highest peak in Macedonia Korab 2764 meters the peak is on the borderline with Albania so it’s also the highest peak in Albania. The duration of this hiking day is 8 to 9 hours. 19 km. with a 1325m. altitude difference. From the peak, we have 2h. transfer to Ohrid city where we will spend the night.

Day 4.

We dedicate this day to exploring Ohrid the UNESCO city and Lake the old town. the typical Macedonian bars lining the narrow cobbled streets and the illuminated Byzantine churches add to its charm. Visit the 10th-century monastery of St. Naum. From the monastery, we go to the city of Bitola cross the mountain pass and on the way, we can have 2 hours beautiful hike on the peak from where you can see the two lakes Ohrid and Prespa we spend the night in Bitola city.

Day 5.

We check out from the hotel and we have 20min. drive to the starting point for the last hike of this trip, hike to Pelister Peak 2601m. The duration of the hike for this day is 7 to 9 hours. With a 1240m. altitude difference. From the peak, we continue to Skopje we have a 2-hour drive to the hotel in Skopje where we end this trip.
